Well this is one of my favorites:
STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD
2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup melted margarine
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
8 oz. carton Cool Whip
6 oz. pkg strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 10 oz. package frozen, sliced strawberries, thawed
Mix together pretzels, margarine, and 3 tablespoons sugar and press into a 9x13-inch pan as the crust for the salad. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool. Beat together cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until well blended. Stir in Cool Whip and spread on crust. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in strawberries. Let stand for 10 minutes. Pour on top of cheese mixture and chill. Serve 12.

Ya'll I am looking for a specific jello recipe. I don't know what its called, but I'll call it Green Stuff. I think its made from lime jello, a can of crushed pineapple, cool whip, and chopped pecans. I'm not sure if its layered but it seems that the bottom was a little more jello like, and maybe the top was creamier as though that was where the cool whip was. Or maybe cool whip mixed with cream cheese?
Does anyone know this jello dish, and have the recipe? Thanks a mil!

Darn I wish we had an edit button! And I also meant to add, the pecans are on the top, and not mixed into the jello.

I got this one from an issue of 'Taste of Home.' I haven't made it in a while, but remember it as being delicious.
Creamy Orange Fluff
1 pkg (6 oz.) orange Jello
2 1/2 C boiling water
2 cans (11 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
1 c (6 oz) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
Topping:
1 8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 C cold milk
1 3.4 oz pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
In a bowl, dissolve gelatin into boiling water. Stir in oranges, pineapple and oj concentrate. Spray a 13 x 9 dish with cooking spray, add gelatin mixture. Refrigerate until firm. In another mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until light. Gradually add milk and pudding mix; beat until smooth. Spread over orange layer; chill until firm. Serves 12-16.

Sophie, I have a recipe at home you might like. It's my favorite congealed salad recipe. I love it for dessert! It's lime jello, pecans, cream cheese, pineapple, marshmallows, and I can't remember what all else. Anyways, the marshmallows melt. The pecans are mixed in, but that layer "rises" to the top, so to speak. I'll get it and post it for you. :)
I've eaten this a LONG time ago. And forgot about it!!!! But it is DEE-LICIOUS!!!! Thanks for a good memory. And I'll look forward to your recipe. :)

Lemon/Lime Congealed Salad
(This recipe is at least 30-35 yrs. old, but still such a goodie. I still get excited when this is put on the table.)
OH my! This is a family favorite of ours, as well. My grandmother always made it and for what ever reason called it Russian Salad (why?)anyway, I love it! My aunt and I still make it, because mostly she and I are the only ones that eat it but it makes us feel like GG is still with us!
:D Hooray for the green stuff (what MY kids call it!).
This is another good jello salad, although you can't beat Strawberry Pretzel Salad.
BLUEBERRY JELLO SALAD
2 3oz pkg grape or raspberry jello
1 21oz can blueberry pie filling
1 20oz can crushed pineapple
Mix grape jello with 2 cups boiling water. Add blueberry pie filling and pineapple. Pour in a 9x13 dish. Chill untill set. Mix topping together and spread on top of set jello.
TOPPING
1 8oz cream cheese, softened
1 8oz sour cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Mix together and spread on top of set salad. May sprinkle chopped pecans on top if desired.
Can make the same thing in cherry by using cherry jello and pie filling.
I am so glad these Boards are back. It is just like seeing a favorite friend that you haven't seen in a long time.

Any one remember Jello 1,2,3.. loved it! It was a boxed dessert from Jello.. and one bowl.. just mix it up.. and pour into cups.. and the jello split into 3 layers! Any recipes for that one?
JudyAZ

Here are two recipes.
Jello 1-2-3
3/4 cup boiling water
1 (4-serving size) package Jello, any flavor
1/2 cup cold water
ice cubes
1/2 cup whipped topping
Pour boiling water into blender. Add Jello.
Cover and blend at low speed
until gelatin is completely dissolved, about
30 seconds. Combine cold water
and ice cubes to make 1 1/4 cups. Add to
gelatin and blend until ice is
partially melted. Then add whipped topping;
blend at high speed for 30
seconds. Pour into dessert glasses. Chill
about 30 minutes. Dessert layers as
it chills.

This recipe takes a little practice, but it
turns out just as you remember it.
1 (6 ounces) package jello gelatin
1/2 cup non-dairy powdered coffee
creamer
2 tablespoons powdered egg whites
2 cups hot water
1 1/2 cups cold water
1/2 cup ice
4 servings
1. Mix Jello and hot water in a blender
about 1 minute on high.
2. Add creamer and blend for 30 seconds.
3. Add cold water and ice and blend until
ice has dissolved.
4. Add powdered egg whites and blend for
about one minute.
5. Pour into glasses slowly.
6. Refigerate and it will separate just
like you remember it.

Is the cream cheese suppose to completely dissolve? Mine didn't and there are little specks of cream cheese still in the jello. I'm sure it will taste just fine, but just wondered.

I made Lynn's salad tonight and it was delicious!!! I used sugar free jello and low fat cream cheese and it was great - I can't imagine how good it would be with the real stuff.

This is so good; don't sub the home made whipped cream with Cool Whip; it's just not the same.
Green Goddess
1 28 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice
1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
2 envelopes lime Jello
1 pint heavy whipping cream
2 tbs. cider vinegar
Place pineapple in large bowl; set aside. In meduim bowl, add Jello powder, 2 cups boiling water and stir until dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water and 1 cup reserved pineapple juice. Add vinegar. Let pre-set in freezer for a few minutes. With electric mixer, combine cream cheese and crushed pineapple. Add Jello mixture; mix until smooth. In separate bowl, whip the cream until it holds soft peaks. Gently fold whipped cream into Jello mixture. Transfer to a pretty bowl and refrigerate at least 4 hours or until set, preferably overnight.

Did you know that someone has a petition for bringing back the original Jello 1-2-3 product? You can go to www.petitiononline.com/jello123/petition.html and sign the petition.
My son in Iraq would love to have the mix come back. It would be so easy for him to make and enjoy once again.

Miss Lynn....I made your lemonlime congealed salad for Sunday dinner and it was SOOOO GOOOOOD!!! One DD who doesn't like pineapple couldn't stop eating it (she knew the pineapple was in there) and my daddy couldn't get enough!! Even DH who doesn't like jello stuff thought it was very good.
Daddy wanted to know if you could use any other flavors of jello? Have you tried any others? I am sure you can but I couldn't think of any off the top of my head.
