How many of us here have read a good number of the classics? Not me. I've always been more of a non-fiction reader in the past but over the last few years, I've been trying to catch up on a lot of fiction that I've let slide, including the classics.

This is not to say that I never read fiction, but not as much.

Right now I'm reading Jane Eyre by Charlotee Bronte. It's such a great book and I wish I had been reading them all along over the years. What's the saying? So many books, so little time?

Anyway, list your favorite classics and tell us what it was about that book that made you love it so much.

My favorite book of all time, which I think would be considered a classic, is "To Kill a Mockingbird."
I read it for the first time when I was 12 years old, and have read it about once a year since.

Loved Jane Eyre and loved all of Jane Austen's books.
Ivanhoe was great.
Recently tried to read Potrait of a Lady by Henry James and didn't care for it.
I'm not sure what other classics might be good.

I am going to be mocked for this because so many people HATED it, but I love Tess of D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy...and Jude the Obscure...obscure? I know!
