you may call it. I want to colorwash our breakfast room in that tuscan/old world color that looks like aged plaster. Has anyone done this and what color combination did you use? And do you have pictures? I think I can do this but share your tips please! Thanks!

Bev.. depending upon the size and exactly what you seek.. (psst here's a website that will help you choose.. I was thinking myself to tackling the space above my mantle in a 'luster n lace' .. here's the link to peek at some of the finishes http://www.rivercityfinishes.com/gallery.htm )
I've done whitewashing, marble, speckle, paper and other other faux finishes for myself.. and even though I don't think I've done a good job, many beg me to do their houses.. which I just can't do, I'd feel awful if it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to be.
Good luck in this adventure.. which will be grand!

Thanks Olivia...neat site. I love the cheetah and lizard/buckskin. I wonder how they did the cheetah look. May have to check into that one. Thanks again!

oh the cheetah is tissue paper that comes that way and it's torn into pieces and placed on the wall.. thus the dimensions are created and a glaze is washed over this.. sorta neat eh? As for the lizard.. not sure, never did that type of finish.

That sounds so easy. Would look great on a small table. Got a question. I didn't see exactly what I was looking for at that site. So maybe you can help. Have you colorwashed a wall. I know it sounds simple. But what are the techniques you use? I have an aquaintance who had this done to her walls and they really look great. She paid $$ for this but I know I can do it myself, just need reasurrance. Thanks!

everyone has their own way or technique.. yet here's a site that has great tips.. some that I choose to use in my applications.. and here's the biggest tip.. purchase some heavy cardboard or drywall and prep it.. now practice on this.. and just have fun.. that's the important part.. oh and head out to tag sales or you local GW to purchase side tables to try the tissue faux out.. you'll love the results.
