I LOVE cheese. I pretty much stick to the tried & true ones. But I would LOVE to try some new ones that have been tried & taste tested.

What's the VERY BEST cheese you've ever eaten & where did you get it from?

Butterkase. It is a German cheese and so mellow without being too strong.

Etorki...it's a French sheep's milk cheese from the Basque region that I used to buy in DiBruno Bros. in Philadelphia (they have an online site).

Aged Gouda is another good choice. Some of the older ones are hard and crumbly like Parmesan.

Smoked Gruyère Cheese - YUMM - We got ours from Meijer (http://www.meijer.com/) when we lived closer to the big town. The cheese has a smoky, slightly buttery taste. Try it, you won't regret it!:)

because our new healthy lifestyle and way of eating does not include dairy, because of it's high fat and colesteol and body clogging ways, we keep it down to just a little parmisiano riggiono on our pasta dishes.
but i always loved a really good monteray jack. my little grandfater from the old mediteranian country always would make us these wonderful sandwiches that went in the oven. melted monteray jack cheese on genoa salami toasted sandwich yum yum

I like lots of different cheeses. If there is a Whole Foods near you, check out their cheese section which often has samples and just try them to you find one you like. I love sharp cheese, but I really love just plain old mozzarella.
