We talk about our favorite comfort foods so what about comfort clothes.

I was raised to change my clothes when I came home from school. That’s the first thing I do when I walk in the door…well second thing actually…first thing is take off my shoes by the back door and put them in the cubby…then go change clothes. Unlike Sandra Lee I don’t dress to the nines to cook LOL! I always change before I cook! (That woman gets on my nerves.)

To me comfort clothes are, of course, comfortable and after that it all depends on the weather. Summer clothes aren't really what I call comfort clothes because it is HOT and nothing is comfortable when it's hot. In the summer it’s the least I can get by with and still be decent. I don’t want to scare anyone hehe! It’s always shorts, t-shirts or tank tops (with the built in thingeys). I don’t wear anything around the house I can’t go to the door in.

YEA! It’s time to bring out the REAL comfort clothes! My very favorite! They are soft and warm and feel sooooo good curled up by the fire with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.

My favorites are sweat pants and sweat shirts/t-shirts. I have one set that has matching sweat pants and top. It is my very favorite to wear. I have other sets that are velour and I wear them a lot around the holidays cause they are a little “dressy” if ya know what I mean. I have a wicked black one I will probably wear for Halloween. Meow! ;)

Of course I have the old pajamas that I absolutely love to put on. We get a lot of the sleep pants at Old Navy...DH loves them! I always buy the holiday ones for everyone. Several years ago I bought all of us what we call our “reindeer pants”. Everyone loves them. We all wear them on Christmas eve. It’s always “don’t forget to wear your reindeer pants” LOL!

What’s your favorite thing to relax in? You know, that one thing you just can't wait to get home and put it on. A soft fluffy robe I bet. :p

My entire family could answer this question for me, that ratty old grey & black sweater. It comes down to my knees is all out of shape, (kind of like me) and is the most comfortable thing in the world. I put it on for the first time this season the other night DH, and DD both said OH It must be cool Mom has on "that" sweater. It never gets put away when the seasons change its always in plain view in my closet just in case I need it. I pair it with a very faded pair of old jeans, and my brown fuzzy slippers to complete the ensemble.
Like you Belle I was taught to change clothes when I came home from school, and I still do it to this day. That way you don't mess up your "good clothes" when you are at home. June Clever I'm not, or Sandra Lee, I can walk by a flour canister in the kitchen and have it all over me.
My warm weather working in the yard ensemble is almost as fetching as my fall/ winter one. A pair of green shorts, a 2000 Disney Tee shirt that glows in the dark,(thats always scares the beegeebees out of the dog) and the worse pair of tennis shoes you have ever seen.
But being the true southern lady that I am, I always have on my lipstick, blush and mascara. LOL Plus the all important earrings.

I like knit pants from Lands End and a fitted t-shirt. I'm very hot natured so I don't wear thick or heavy things much. I want comfort when I'm at home, but I still like to look pulled together, too; I'm like you, I don't want to have anything on that I can't go to the door or to the mailbox in. Something like this:

Well, shoot, I can't get the picture to work, but here's a link:

LOL wehoney you know exactly what I am talkin’ bout! I have a sweatshirt that makes everyone go  . I am the same way in the kitchen too! Before it’s over I am wearing dinner! I am gonna make DD#3 read this! She makes fun of my lipstick and earrings. She’ll see it’s not just me that does that hehe! ;)

Shannon I am hot natured too. I love those pants! Today I am wearing pants like that and a long sleeve turtleneck shirt. It feels good in the house but if I go out I would put on a light jacket. It's very windy here.

I confess that my favorite around the house clothes are sweat-type pants and shirt. The thin, soft kind in the summer and the thick scushy kind in the winter. At one time I would not have been caught dead in such an outfit (it wasn't cool);:D now I don't care! Once home, I kick off the heels and hose and put on the comfy stuff. What a relief!

My favorite's a Lands' End item, too: a long fleece hooded robe -- think a floor-length hoodie. Now that the weather's getting cool, I'll be dragging it back out.

I guess if I had my own TV show and crew to prep and clean I might have time to match my outfit to the pot holders. But then again I would either be wearing red or beige they are the only colors I have to choose form in pot holders.

I don't go as far a Sandia Lee but I can't get anything done if I don't get dressed. It may just be jeans and blouse or skirt and top but if I am in sweats and tee shirt I just feel like sitting around so that is what I do.

I almost always change when I get home from work but I usually do for a couple of reasons my children are young (4 &2) and they are messy whether we are playing in the yard or doing crafts or eating a snack so I always end up with stained clothes. Also, since I work in a lab even though I wear a lab coat I change so in case the kids decide to lick my pants (hey it's happened!) or something crazy like that I don't have to worry that something from work is on my clothes. I don't have a certain outfit to change into. I tend to wear shorts and t-shirts mostly. I love wearing pjs but never put those on under bed time usually.

I forgot to add that I used to never go out of the house without make up for any reason but since having kids I do so sometimes. I always feel better with the bare minimum on my face -what wehoney said blush, mascara and lip gloss/stick.:p

I'm glad I'm not alone! In warm weather, shorts and tees, in cold weather, sweat pants and shirts or tees....and when I come home I change to the "comfort clothes." I get dirty just by looking at dirt!

Ohhhhh I LOVE coming home from work in the fall/winter time and putting on my comfie sweats!! My favorite time of the day! In the summer time I come home and put on shorts and a tshirt and go barefoot. My kids are the same way, but my DH has BABY feet and can't stand to go outside with at least socks on. His feet are soft as a baby's butt! :D

Well, I've upped my comfort factor to a little oohh la la. I've always tossed on a pair of dh's pj bottoms, so big and roomy and a cami. Recently, he bought me a couple of Vera Wang's chemises from Dillards. I must say, they are quite comfortable, too! Plus, I think dh's prefers those to his big ole' jammy bottoms...;)
