Hello, everyone! I have always hung wreaths on my doors for the Christmas Season. This year I would like to be able to add lights to the wreaths or find prelit wreaths. I am trying to figure out how to do this and still be able to open the doors. I would really like to avoid the electrical cords in the way of the doors opening. Does anyone used lighted wreaths on their doors and how do you work around the cords. I would love to find some like solar or battery operated lights but I know the light will be dim. Please share your ideas.

I'm thinking you can find lit wreaths with battery power at places like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Maybe other places too like Home Depot or Lowe's. I bet when you start looking around you will find them.

Hope you find the perfect one!!!:D

I know that I've seen small strings of lights with battery packs at Michaels/Hobby Lobby/etc.

QVC also carries a line of great lighted garlands and wreaths. You can do a search on their website for "Bethlehem lights".

Welcome to the Southern Living Message Board Macy! Lots of great ideas and yummy recipes for the holidays. Look forward to reading your posts.

Macy I have a big lighted wreath on my front door and side door. I run the cords in the opposite decoration of where the doors open and plug it in. If you don’t have outlets available, you could run the cord through a window to an outlet.

They have battery operated lights just about everywhere they have Christmas decorations. I have some on my mailbox. I think I got mine at Home Depot.

Have fun decorating your home!

Hey! Thank you all for your ideas for my door wreath. I don't have a Micheals or Home Depot near me but we do have a Lowe's Hardware. Surely they would carry close to the same things.

If you can't find any prelit wreaths or battery operated wreaths that you like. Try adding a spot light (not real bright) in your yard and have it shine towards your front porch. Maybe add some pretty classic ornaments and some of the sticks that look fresh, with a beautiful red velvet ribbon. It's amazing what a statement it makes to your entrance. You can easily add a timer to your outlet and set it to come on and off when you would like.

I was wondering the same thing about lights for wreaths, so I'm glad I saw this!
