yes I do.. but I think it needs to change as the zones/climates are changing.

Not really. I live in Kansas and tend to grow things the "Zones" say I can't grow here, like my Magnolia's and Jasmine. They were wrong, so, I don't pay them much mind.

I usually don't - I take a look around at plants in other people's yards I like regardless of whether they are a zone plant or not and try those which great success.

NO- you leave out us southerners that live away- even though we can still grow a number of the same plants and WANT to have Southern Gardens- I have to cross reference the plants- for Washington State
Southern Living Should mean an ability to Live Southern anyplace- Its a way of life not an area- The Magazine is Southern Living not Living in the South!

I do look at it and am right on the line so I wonder what zone I'm in! The hot, dry summers here dictate what I plant more than anything else so mainly I base my decisions on that season rather than when or how long it freezes.
