I don't know about you guys, but I love to listen to music while I am in the kitchen!! Recently I have been making some great food and have so much energy doing it. Im going to tell you why!! My cousin, who works for Univesal, gave me a single called "Appeciate" by LaToya London. I don't know if it is because of the energy of the song or the words, but I am so addicted to it. I feel I have to listen to it while I cook!! Listen to this and let me know what you think of it. Until then do not set the roof on fire!! :)

I listen to a variety of music while I'm cooking, baking, cleaning, getting ready..... Frank Sinatra and Carla Bruni (great French CD!!) are two of my favorites. It really depends on what mood I'm in.

I really don't cook that often but when I do I always have the radio or TV on.

I have a little t.v. in the kitchen, I do like to watch cooking shows while in the kitchen, or a movie if I'll be in there for a long time.
When I'm in the mood for music, I plug the mini speakers into my iPod and listen to jazz, lounge mixes and club/electronic mixes. I enjoy listening to Bill Evans, Madeleine Peyroux (she's a french jazz singer, oh-la-la), Terrasse Tranquille, Martin Denny, Beegie Adair.
Of course, alot depends on what time of year it is too. Naturally, Christmas music for holiday baking or Christmas Eve dinner, I like classical music while prepping Thanksgiving dinner (until DH declares "It's time to listen to 'Alice's Restaurant' on the radio!" then it's temporarily on hold :) He's so cute, & it's his tradition so it's hard to say no...)
Summer parties and picnics = caribbean/steel drum/hawaiin music, switch to party music. Now with autumn in full swing, I like to mellow out with classical music. Something about the cool air, the smell of cinnamon in the house, the fireplace crackling away and classical music that just set the right mood for me.

Our satellite company offers music stations, and one of my favorite is "piano & guitar". I listen to it while cooking, cleaning, and when I go to sleep at night (with the TV on sleep timer). It is also great for dinner music. Of course, on Thanksgiving day, I pop on the Christmas Music which drives my husband wild...he thinks I "rush" it. There is also a great CD out there called "late night sax", which is good to use for dinner music. As well as "piano by Candle light"

ALWAYS!!!! If I have the TV on I tend to stop what I'm doing to concentrate on the show or I concentrate on what I'm doing and miss the show so music it is for me.

I've got a stereo in the livingroom (connects to the kitchen) that has a 3-cd changer on it so I've always got a great variety of stuff going. It's usually Christian music (right now I think all I've got in there is Christmas musicals). I'm the choir director at church and am always listening for something new.

I cannot work in the kitchen without music or radio.
My taste in music could not be more eclectic & choices all depend upon my mood, but there is always something on.

Not really. I might get distracted & step on one of my dogs who ALWAYS hang out with me when I cook, hoping something will fall on the floor. ;)

I do - I have a CD player/clock that is mounted under a cabinet. Most recently I've been listening to Rod Stewart.

I LOVE his song "Forever Young" - have you heard his Great American songbook c.d.'s? So great.

almost everything I do, is done listening to music.....I prefer Country/Country-Southern Gospel.....when cooking usually I will be singing and learning whatever program is being worked up to sing.....When you sing in a local area, you really have to change things up....not always repeat the same songs, the same ways......Latino music is a wonderful thing to play when cleaning....I also use tv music to go off to sleep, only takes less than one song and I am gone....when cleaning in my bedroom, theres something great about listening to the ELVIS channel.

I love to listen to music while I cook. I like all kinds of music, but I find that I cook best to country. I sing really loud and I've noticed that for some reason it makes the "clean as you go" chore go a little bit faster! I sing best to Martina McBride. :p

So you do it too, huh? LOL!

I can't wait to pop in the Christmas CDs on Thanksgiving. :p

Veecee, that's the CD I'm listening to now - love it! I love "I'll Be Seeing You".... I like most of his songs and have for 25 years. DH doesn't like him very much. :D My favorite oldie is "You're In My Heart."
