My husband and I have been thinking about installing a laminate flooring in our living room, foyer, and hall. Do any of you have the SwiftLock laminate flooring from Armstrong? If so, are you pleased with it? I would be interested in any other brands that you have had success with as well. Thanks!

This summer DH and I installed the locking kind of laminate flooring in our basement. It was very easy to do and took us less than two hours. I will ask DH what kind we used. DH has also installed laminate in our bedroom, pantry, and kitchen. He used the glue kind for those three rooms and would never use the glue kind again. I like the ease in cleaning a laminate floor and if you go with a quality floor the look is great also.

We have Armstrong swiftlock in 2 bedrooms. We actually had it in our original bedroom and when we renovated we took it up and put it in the new bedroom. It is easy to clean and we put it in ourselves. Hubby bought the video and watched it first. If you have the correct tools and figure out before hand what you're doing then it should go well. We learned DON't run the boards where the seams face the doorway. Run the boards with the seams going across the room and parallel to the doorway. It does chip if somthing heavy, sharp or hard is dropped on it.

I have the laminate floor in my kitchen It cost me alot and when I accidentally left the kitchen window open during a thunderstorm, the next morning where the rain lay on the floor , The floor buckled everywhere it was wet. I freaked out. It is hard to fix since they all interlock into each other. Now I have a throw rug ontop of it. Also when the kids spilled their drink and ran instead of telling me, that area buckled too. If I would have known not to have any liquid lay on the floor, I would have went with the hardwood. But I moving soon, so Hello new non- damaged floors. :)

jerseymom, you answered my question before I asked it! I've been wondering what happened to this type of flooring if a spill sat for a while undetected.

Between the seams is where they lift. I call it the big bubbles  . Definetly Not good for the kitchen, and never the bathroom.

It is not suitable to install laminate flooring (http://www.flooring-manufacturer.com) on some floor where is too much water. It should be ok to install this type of flooring (http://www.flooring-china.com) on living room, foyer, and hall as long as there is not too much moisture.

rocky, I see from your profile that you are trying so very hard to sell your product. This is not the place for that. There is a separate section for ads. Unless you are selling SPAM??...how long did it take you to drag up these old threads?

I'll go ahead and report your posts so admin can keep an eye on you.
