I like Wilson Crawford, a North Carolina writer. He just put out his 4th book called "The Oasis" which I enjoyed very much. Who do ya'll like?

I enjoy Dorethea Benton Frank. I am just now reading her newest Bulls Island. I also like Mary Kay Andrews, Rita Mae Brown and Cassandra King.
Recently came across a new one for me...Karen White. Her latest The memory of water was very good...very powerfull and very emotional.

I enjoy Ann B. Ross. It has been fun keeping up with the "Miss Julia" series.

I simply love to read Clyde Edgerton's books, except the one I can't "get into," that is not about the South.
Other tops on my list are Mary Kay Andrews and Jill Conner Browne!!
Guess you can tell that I don't like deep thought books, but love to laugh!!!:D

I love Miss Julia! What is the name of the latest? I need to buy it or get on the list at the library.
I like a variety of books, including mystery and murder. (The latter tends to make my DH nervous!) I love historical fiction. I have a huge stack of TBR books beside the bed, and yet I still look for 'another' book!

I just finished The Land of Mango Sunsets, by Dorothea Benton Franks and it was very good. I'm starting Bull's Island next.

Rick Bragg -- although his writing isn't always fiction. I haven't yet read his latest, "Portrait of My Father as a Young Man," but I hope to soon.
I believe I read he will be appearing here at the Southern Festival of Books (http://tn-humanities.org/festival/index.php). If y'all have never attended, you owe it to yourself to visit at least once. It's a reader's paradise. There must be a couple of hundred authors who read and autograph their books. It's usually in October.

I'll pick this up at the library first thing in the morning! A Miss Julia book and the weekend off. Life is good!! calcay, thank you so much for your kind offer. You can tell book lovers....they always want to share. (Or as my dear friend who loves to read calls it "spread the word!")
I haven't read any Dorothea B. Franks' books but I do want to try one. One of the nurses on my shift has one. I believe it was called Plantation? I may have that mixed up with another author.
I'm not familiar with Jennifer Cruise. What type books does she write? Its always good to add another author to check on!
I'm so happy that I have found the book threads. :D
