I live in North Georgia and I need some feedback on the available assisted living facilities in my area. If anyone has any opinions or recommendations I would be grateful as I am starting a search to find a new home for my elderly parents. They are both 73 and 74 respectively. My mother is overwhelmed and depressed being sole caregiver to my father who is diagnosed with Alzheimers.
I am trying to find a place where they can have their own separate home (condo?) within a community. Not an apartment within one big home where upon opening the door you are in a public hallway.
Any help is appreciated.

I'm not in Georgia but my SIL is. I can tell you that I work in assisted living homes in NJ. I am their hairdresser, I work in a few and have been in many. The ones here have the public hallway when you open your apartment door. There are alot of advantages of having the nurses station close by. They are always their when you need them 24-7. I havent heard of separate condo type facilities. Mostly residents want the comfort and security of knowing theirs help right outside, or down the hall. I will ask my SIL if she knows of any. Good Luck. :)

Thanks for the links they were fairly helpful. I am also considering assisted living for my parents at this time. I am currently seeking more caregiving resources (http://www.agis.com/) before I actually send them off to a random senior home. Does anyone have any other suggestions in Georgia area?
