Not yet. We have a dance to go to the night before so I will be surprised if anyone has a party on Sunday, too. I always enjoy watching the game for the commercials!

We're invited to a Super Bowl party at DH's DS/BIL's house. BIL loves to cook on the grill and the food is always delish. Everyone is bringing something, but I haven't decided what I'm making. Probably a dessert of some kind. We're looking forward to it and we watch it mostly for the commercials as well!

I'd love to go if my Titans win Saturday and next weekend. We went the last time they played in the Super Bowl (in Atlanta), but I don't if I'd be lucky enough to have my name drawn again. (There's a lottery for PSL owners of the competing teams. I don't know how many tickets go to each side now, but the best I recall it was 3,000 to 4,000 for 69,000 PSL holders.)

If I don't get to attend, I'll either go to a party with friends, or maybe watch it at a local theater on the big screen. They bring in outside vendors who sell a variety of higher-quality foods, have an emcee who draws names for give-aways during commercials, etc. For me, it's more fun than a sports bar.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay - me too:) I thought I was the only person in the whole of the USA to feel this way about Super Bowl:) Now, if it were basketball, then that's a different matter. Thankfully DH will be amongst colleagues (he's working), and will enjoy the SB - me, I will be enjoying it my way, hopefully sitting in sunshine on the deck, good book in hand and bottle of nicely chilled Pinot:) Have a great SB weekend ya'll and celebtrate any way that suits you!

We are going to a huge Super Bowl party - as you can imagine w/ us living in Saints territory. I am taking a homemade king cake (I didn't make it, but it is homemade :p), and layered Mexican dip with a couple of bags of Tostidos.

Geaux Saints!

Haaaay Ya'll I'm a new member and I think this is perfect place to jump in :)

I am from south Louisiana and this place is WILD!!!! Mardi Gras and the Saints in the super bowl....it is almost too much to wrap our brains arond down here.

EVERYONE has on a Saints shirt and the food is being gathered today. Sunday there will not be a car on the road after 3 o'clock.

I'm sure you all saw many many photos of the devastation in New Orleans and I can tell you they did not come close to the horror of it. STILL the city is struggling to get back to it's charm and grandeur. This win would be the most wonderful thing for the city. The greatest spirit to bestow.

Down here we LOVE the Saints...forever. I think...huuummm let the best team win but in my heart I have always loved an under-dog and the Saints are the original under_dogs so if you don't have a real perference and you want to watch really good football Sunday please give a shout out for the Saints.......

So, the big game has come and gone. I was bored (had no interest in either team and really wished I had!) But, tell me: what did you think of the commercials? Which were the best? Worst?

Is it over?? :D Ozsmom, I'm with you. I am surprised that there are a few of us that didn't have an interest in the game. Almost everyone I know couldn't wait until last night!

The image of Drew Brees holding his little baby with tears in his eyes was pricless.

I am not really a football lover, I am a New Orleans Saints lover. Down here we take "extreme" pride in them win or lose.
D.Brees built a school for needy children after the hurricane. He is the real deal.

I'm sure there are alot of folks from here on this forum and it is hard to explain the comraderie and friendship that people in this area will extend to each other.

This super bowl will go down in the history books here in Louisiana and will forever be in our hearts.:)
