I know it's only July, but I've already started planning for Christmas.
How do you display your Christmas cards? We usually put them on our mantel, but I'd like to try something different this year. I have a girlfriend who hangs ribbon from her pantry door and clips each card onto the ribbon. I'm thinking of doing this, but wanted to see what other ideas were out there.

I have a huge glass vase that I put rocks in the bottom of. River rocks. I put branches in the vase and when we get a new card I whole punch it and tie it with red or green wired ribbon.
I have been doing that for about three or four years now. I like it b/c usually by Christmas the cards feel like clutter to me if I put them on the mantle or taped in the door way.
This year I am getting rid of the glass vase and doing a galvanized one that is red. ANd the branches are going to be sprayed white.

I put a vintage tray on my coffee table and just scatter cards on it - kinda to give the look that someone was just sitting there going through them. I have arranged them on the top ledge of the entertainment center but now DH has part of the sound system up there and when he cranks it up I am afraid a bunch of cards would end up airborne. I would like to hang them but have never found a system that I really liked. I am looking forward to seeing how others do them.
Weddingplanner, that sounds really pretty.

I've seen a wreath-shaped wire configured for holiday cards. The best I recall, the cards slide in a double-ring configuration (similar to a key ring). It could be hung on the inside of a kitchen door or a pantry door -- even on the wall, I suppose.

Bumping this to see if anyone had other unique ways of displaying their holiday cards.

I have one of those decorative iron wall hangings and I slip the cards in the curves. (Not sure if this makes sense, but I don't know any other way to explain it!)

We usually place all our cards on the mantel, however this year we have garland, pinecones and candles there. I bought a silver sleigh to put our cards in this year. I guess it's a candy dish, but it works perfectly for our cards.

A lot of time when I was growing up my mom put them up on the pantry door, so they were all displayed and then she switched over to think red ribbon. So she just tapes them to the ribbon, it works really well! I love the holidays!!! :D

Most of my girlfriends display their holiday cards this way. I like the ribbon idea!
