I just read about this in my mom and dad's hometown newspaper (online)! Glad I don't use it.

My best friend gives this to her dogs and she was halfway through a very large bag when she found out about the recall. According to the emergency animal clinic she called last week, they have had several dogs in and some have died. Luckily, her dogs are showing no signs of illness.

We recently lost our beloved German Shepherd Dog. We had been feeding the Diamond Maintenance dog food. "Joe" was a retired sheriff's dept dog that had become a service dog for my disabled wife. Joe died in her arms last tuesday. His symptoms included loss of appetite, dark discolored urine, loss of weight (he had lost 20 lbs), and lethargy. "Joe" you will be missed.

This story has really made me mad. It has been on the news and the company has been a tad slow in helping out pet owners. So many pet owners have lost their beloved pets. I am so glad I don't feed my dog this brand. I can't imagine losing my baby. My heart really goes out to those folks.
