More advice for maid of honor...

I am hosting a girl's relaxation weekend at the lake for this bride instead of a huge bachelorette party. Any suggestions for fun menu items?

Or suggestions for meals that are good for a lot of people, but not too expensive to buy!

Thanks,
C

I would first like to suggest you put this in FOODS and you will be more apt to get some response to it. Are you talking food for the entire weekend, just one night, breakfast, what exactly? How many people? Do they all eat about the same thing or are you going to have someone that will have to be catered to a little more than others?

thanks for the advice...

ok..I am talking the entire weekend...no one has special needs...maybe 8-10 people.

also any really neat treat would be cool, but mostly meals that are good and feed a lot for not much money.

THANKS!!!

What about tacos? You could have all the toppings, onions, tomatoes, black olives, guacamole, sour cream, black beans, several different meats, cheese, salsa, etc. That way if you have meat eaters and veggies they will all be happy.
Another idea is to have several types of fondue (cheese, meat, veggie) with a big salad and good bread.

THANK YOU...

tacos are a wonderful idea...and they can make taco salad if they want...PERFECT.

I had planned on the chocolate fondue!

For breakfast or brunch (depending on how early or late your days start) you could do a fritatta or stuffed French toast.

One of the most fun bachelorette parties I ever threw was a fondue spend the night party.

We had chocolate and cheese fondue with all the dippers, girly drinks, girly movies (16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, you know the type), and we had a blast!!

This sounds like a really fun weekend! I would think a couple of fruit and veggie trays that could be popped in and out of the fridge during the weekend would be good to have on hand as the munchies attack. You could even have them done at a good deli counter to save work. For sweets what about "small" ones so everyone can nosh and not feel guilty...petite fores (sp?), small eclaires, Sara Lee Cheesecake bites, chocolate covered strawberries, etc. They would make a nice presentation and could be "refreshed" easily.

What a sweet friend you are to plan this! :)
