About 4-6 weeks ago I read about a new Civil War book coming out, and I even wrote the title and authors names down. Of course I lost the paper, and now I can't find out the title to save my life.
The book is about what if the South had won, how the South would be now. It has 2 authors and it's a humor/satire book.
Anyone know about this book, hopefully the title at least?????

Well, I thought the one you are seeking might have been by Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen - Never Call Retreat. It is fiction, the last of a trilogy, about Lee and Grant but with Lee winning this time.
BUT after I re-read your post, I decided that maybe you are seeking a different book.

Not what you are looking for but I do like Shelby Foote. A bit more of a serious read though.

Grammy, thanks for responding, but it's not part of a trilogy, this is a satire/humor book. I wish I had not thrown away the paper with the title written on it. :(
Sugah Britches, what does Shelby Foote write about? I do like serious books, just depends on the topic.

He has some fantastic Civil War (http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/page/foo0bio-1) books. He was also a contributer to The Civil War documentary by Ken Burns.

Hello!! I joined this community about two months ago and haven't had time to use it much. I am a student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington graduatig in May with a BA in Communication Studies. A class that I am in this semester is alled Communication in Groups and Virtual Communities. I have an assignment due on Wed. (yes, this is very last minute.) and I was hoping you would help me with it by letting me ask you a few questions about your community. If you can, the questions are below. Your help is greatly appreciated.
-What was your motivation or reason for joining the virtual community?
-what do you find valuable about the community and why?
-What do you think makes the community successful?
-What suggestions do you have for improving anyt aspect of the community?
Please email the answers to akc1344@uncw.edu or post them.

I have heard about a spoof documentary with this same subject called "CSA: The Confederate States of America." Maybe it was based on a book.

Maybe you could track down the title if you can locate the paper or magazine where you read about the book. OR call your locate book store or library. They are sometimes on top of the latest releases.

Sugah Britches, I'll have to check Shelby Foote out, the closet thing I've read about the Civil War is "Gone With The Wind" :D and I might add, I only got half way finished when I was a teen. I picked up a copy of "Gone With The Wind" at a book sale a couple of months ago and I HAVE to start over and read the entire book this time.
DaniSue, that sounds like the same as the book, but I don't remember any mention of the book being made into a spoof or being based on a spoof. It's a start though, I'll check and see if there is any relation.
Grammy, I've check various book sites, and you will not believe the amount of Civil War books that come out in just 1 month! I guess I'll have to actually go to Borders and see what they can find out. I just didn't want to go to the bookstore and ask for a Civil War book,( I live in North Jersey) as it is, I get " Your from the South aren't you????" and look at me as if I'm green with 3 eyes or something. I also don't have the magazine the article was in, I read it while I was at the gym, and they only have several hundred to look through, and my luck it that it's the one they throw away!

Actually...I guess I didn't find it. Only one author. I got so excited about finding a book with the same premise, I didn't remember the book you're looking for has two authors!
