Has anyone made a pillowcase dress? I have some vintage pillowcases that I think will make beautiful dresses but I am not sure how to start. Is there a pattern that you use?

I've seen the patterns online. You may want to google it.

They are so cute and look like they are very easy to make. Alas, I have a boy, so I don't need to make one!

Thanks - I will look for a pattern online. I agree that they must be simple to make.

I have a little boy too, but I wouldn't mind making some and putting them away...

I think they are beautiful. I have never made one but my DD had one when she was tiny. Good luck.

June Bride,

If you would like to send me an email address, I have a pattern and the instructions for the pillowcase dress. I have shared this with over 2000 women. It's very detailed and very easy to understand with pictures to help you make the dresses. The pattern is in a pdf format so all you have to do is print it out, cut it out, and your ready to create the perfect pillowcase dress.

Thank you SeaBreeze for the offer, but I don't think I will post me email address online. Is this pattern similar to what you have?

For the best free pillowcase dress pattern this site has the pattern in a pdf format and pictured instructions for printing out. Once you print out the pattern it's ready to use. I've used it and it's very good and easy to understand with great pictures.

The lady who shared this information has a beautiful website where she sells pillowcase dresses. If you want to know what they look like go see her stuff. She does beautiful work.

I have looked at several of these little pillowcase dresses and they do indeed look easy! Only one problem there for me - I don't sew! If you know of anyone making these to sell at a reasonable price, please email me at: janherr06@bellsouth.net Thanks!

I'm going to have two of my grandaughters with me in a week or so for a couple of weeks and would love to make each of them one. They are ages 6 and 8, but petite. Is that too old for pillowcase dresses?

Being that I can't get Bobby Tyler to dress as a girl, and this is a good thing but I digress...I had no idea what a pillow case dress was until Saturday. We were at Homestead Hollow and a lady was selling them. She told me that the little girls wear it as a dress and the bigger they get, they can wear it as a shirt with shorts, jeans, pants, etc. They were so cute!
