Okay ya'll if you remember this thread, http://community.southernliving.com/showthread.php?t=149, my trip is NOT cancelled!!!!
DH talked to the father-2-be and he wants to take 2 weeks off to be with mama & the baby (GOOD FOR HIM!!!) so that gave us the info we needed as to whether or not we needed to reconsider our times - obviously yes.
So here is what we are doing ~ I'm so excited!!! We are going to go to Cancun the week of Nov. 6th through 12th - there was no times available for Cozumel hotels during that week (or at least the ones we could afford :o ). We've researched it and made the decision this morning about where we are staying and this is it, the Avalon Baccara Cancun:

You can take a photo tour - check out the funky rooms!!! I'm so excited now. I had to talk to our boss about the fact that I will be getting back from New York on the 25th of October and leaving again for a week just shortly thereafter. He understood considering all the circumstances - sometimes it helps to work with friends!!
DH and I are both SO relieved that we are still going to be able to go. The best thing about this is that we are actually closer inland now and will be able to go to Chichen Itza without having to spend the night - from Cozumel it was recommended to make it a 2 day trip.
