View Full Version : Well, we just ordered an automatic standby generator for our house ..........

that will run on Natural gas. We got a 15 KW Generac brand model. This will automatically kick on when the electricity goes out and we won't have to run for gas each time to refill it. Now if we could work on having a permanent water supply from the town we'd be set. If any of you know about these kinds of generators or have one PLEASE tell me anything and everything you can about it.

I'm very interested in this too. My husband keeps saying he wants to get a generator and has been trying to figure out what kind he wants.

Not a bad idea
We keep talking about getting one I don't know why we didn't just put it in when we built the house. It would probably be pretty pricey for us to do now.

It really wasn't money we wanted to spend right now but we figured if we don't do it now we never will. We know it will pay for itself over our lifetime and if it saves us from 1 long time without electricity it's worth it.

Dh wants to put one in when we remodel. He's looked at them in Lowe's & Home Depot. Will probably get it from the plumbing supply company where we'll buy a tankless water heater.
