Default Christmas Decor 2009

I've been packing away my Halloween decorations and taking stock of what I have for Christmas. I want to do it up big this year at our house! I'm tired of all the bad news on the the tv and want to invite friends over for some holiday cheer very soon.

I just love looking though Pottery Barn and those types of catalogs and admiring the beautiful trees and Christmas decorations. I have a big front porch and lots of french doors - so wreaths and lighted garlands are my staples. I love the look of the huge (plastic) mercury glass ornaments used in outdoor decorations. I put a tree on my front porch last year but didn't really go "all out" with it. I hope to add a few new decorations to my stockpile and maybe change up some of my wreaths. right now they all have red velvet bows but maybe they need a little more bling...

Anyone else ready to deck the halls????

Yep! I have my Thanksgiving things out and am thinking that I'm going to work some lights in that will then just stay for Christmas. Maybe some greenery with colored leaves as well?

Scarlett, you always start some of the best threads!

Having said that, I must admit that Christmas has not taken top priority in my thoughts yet. Once I switch jobs, I might give it more thought and by then this thread will have lots of great ideas I can copy!

Got my new Country Woman issue yesterday and there is a wreath in it that I like. I think today I will dig out an artificial one that I have and get started on it!

What is Country Woman magazine? I don't know that one.

I am going to put up a Clemson tree at DH's office this week. I have a white tree and tons of orange and purple glass balls that I bought on sale last year. I have left over ticket stubs that I am going to hang on there with some other miscellaneous Clemson decor we have collected over the years. I was inspired when I went to Dollar General yesterday and their Halloween was 1/2 off. I found several boxes of orange lights that will complete this wonderfully tacky tree!
