Here is the hot chocolate recipe I use. I have a friend who uses the non-fat milks...but...not me!! This makes a large quantity, and I cool and refrigerate the remainder...Bobby-Tyler heats a cup up whenever he wants one!

4 0z. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 6 oz. pkg. (1 cup) semi sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 quarts (8 cups) milk
1 TBLS. vanilla

In slow cooker, combine chocolates and condensed milk, Mix well. Cover, cook on high for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or until chocolate is melted.

With wire whisk, stir in 2 cups of milk until smooth. Gradually add the remaining 6 cups milk and vanilla.

Cover, cook on high 2 hours or until hot.

Stir again with whisk just before serving.

You do not have to use a slow cooker. I do this many times on top of the stove in a dutch oven.

Enjoy!!!

Here's one I picked up in a cooking class recently, to be given in a Christmas-y jar as a gift.

CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRY COCOA MIX

1 box (9.6 oz) dry milk powder
1 jar (6 oz) non dairy creamer
1 box (10 oz) chocolate mix for milk
3 C. powdered sugar
1/2 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 pkg. (.13 oz) unsweetened cherry Kool Aid
Miniature marshmallows (optional)
peppermint candy pieces - chopped finely

In large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients except marshmallows and peppermint pieces. Makes 9 C. or 36 servings.

For gift giving, transfer desired amount (in 1/4 C. increments) into gift jars or bags. At top of jar/bag, put some mini marshmallows and peppermint pieces. Attach directions to container as follows: "Chocolate Covered Cherry Cocoa", In mug, combine 1 cup boiling water with 1/4 C. of cocoa mix; stir well. Add marshmallows and peppermint pieces if desired. Makes one serving."

Hi, Captain -- how's BT doing. Miss hearing about his (and yours) activities!

Fran
