Unhappy Deadly Mass Shooting at Fort Hood

please pray for those wonded and those who were caught in gunfire. last i heard there were 12 dead and 30 wonded. I had to stop watching the news channels cause my best friend (Ds's godmother) and her daughter are stuck on post at the bowling alley and its just making me worry even more for them. they dont live on post and she hardly goes on post but the one day she does, this happens her DH is in Iraq so he's OK and not caught in it.

I definitely agree with you KLD, our prayers are with those families. I can't imagine what they are going through right now.

Some one said,"our worst enemy will come from within"..I wonder, if this man was opposed to being deployed to Iraq/Afghanistan why did he not take his own life and spare the life of 13 others not to mention the wounded.
Prayers for the wounded and families of the deceased.
ASAP
GOD BLESS AMERICA

My words exactly to DH ................ "why didn't he just kill himself if he felt like that'............. but they NEVER do! Such an awful thing to happen - and now he's at BAMC here in San Antonio - wonder just how he's gonna feel when he comes round - doesn't seem fair - he's the one who caused all this but he survives - my heart and prayers go out to ALL the victims of his hand - and may god forgive!! Because I would find it very hard to do!

According to the news just now,not only is the shooter alive but is now talking..He wanted the best education the USA has to offer (for free)and showed his gratitude by killing 13 wounding 20+ I'm sure he could have defected to a muslim country and been welcomed with open arms. You just wonder how many were ultimately involved.
Terrorism comes in many packages--The thing that just blows me away--his cousin said he s a good American ????How dare that man, comparing the shooter to a good Americans!!!!

I agree....and I also think this should be called what it is...by the news and by our leaders. This is terriorism, not just a "tragedy" as so many are saying. I think many believe that it would offend muslims if we call it terriorism.

You are ABSOLUTELY right - and right under our own noses - as a 'transplant' here I am SO happy and grateful to be here, and it really upsets me when I see/hear something like this happening. I'm sure a 'diminished responsibility' plea will surface pretty soon or a plea of that nature, and so the US Government will foot the bill for the rest of his life for him to remain safe and secure, tucked away somewhere being 'rehabilitated' - thus encouraging outbursts of such nature to continue. I really don't know what the answer is, and have debated this strenuously with DH (USAF Vet of 29 1/2 years)! In situations like this I am a firm advocate in an 'eye for an eye' approach, and I'm not particularly proud of myself for thinking that way, but just thinking of all the families of the victims, the wives, husbands, children, mothers, fathers, siblings and even a life unborn make me think that if it were me, I would want whomever responsible for the death of one of my kinfolk to suffer the same demise!!
