Your Favorite Tennessee Fall Getaways

HI everyone, I am a first timer here. I love Tenn., I actually live in Western North Carolina but have traveled around Tenn. for years. I really enjoy Rattlesnake branch, Cocke County...Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the caverns in the area are awesome. Parts of Newport are very pretty esp. along the river and the cliffs. Nashville is a very cool city. Going across the parkway from cherokee to gatlinburg is really pretty, one time a baby black bear stopped in the middle of the road and was walking around. Of course, I knew mama bear wouldnt be far behind. I hope to make new fiends in this forum.. so please feel free to email...blessings to you all.....

I hate to be an echo, but I have to say gatlinburg and the Great Smokey Mountains. We went in August, but they are calling to me now.

We've been at our son's for the last couple of weeks - in Knoxville and have been able to enjoy some of the best of the changing of the leaves in several years. We've driven up to the mountains past Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and must say that the colors are more vibrant nearer his home than in the mountains - also the traffic wasn't nearly as bad. We enjoyed the places where we stopped but the trees in our son's front yard are so vibrant they almost hurt my eyes...the best ever. We are heading back to Florida tomorrow and will enjoy some of the scenery on the way back.

It's such a charming little city. My sis and bro-in-law live there so I think that makes the visits even better.

Great shopping, close to hiking, and plenty to do!
