Default Apple Cherry Pie Bread

A couple years ago, there was a recipe in a Southern Living mag for Apple Cherry Pie Bread....it was a quick bread made with apple sauce and dried cherries and had a struesel topping. I cannot for the life of me find that recipe. I've been through so many back issues of SL my eyes hurt. Can anyone help? I know it was just a page turn away from a recipe for homemade caramels that you made in the microwave. Any help is appreciated!

I think this may be what you are looking for but it isn't from SL according to my notes.
If it isn't the correct recipe then perhaps this will work for you as well

Apple-Cherry Pie Loaves Recipe

Bread
• 3 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
• 1 1/3 cups applesauce
• 1/2 cup oil
• 1 cup chopped dried cherries
Topping
• 1/2 cup flour
• 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1/4 cup chopped pecans
• 1/4 cup chopped dried apple

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of 6 mini loaf pans, 6x3x2.
2. In a large bowl combine 3 cups flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.
3. In another smaller bowl whisk eggs; whisk in 1 1/3 cups brown sugar, applesauce, and oil.
4. Add egg mixture to flour mixture and stir until just moistened; batter will be lumpy. Stir in the dried cherries.
5. Spoon batter into prepared pans and spread evenly.
6. In a medium-sized bowl mix the 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans and chopped apples.
7. Sprinkle topping evenly over batter in pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on a wire rack.
Makes: 6 Loaves

Where did you find it? Thank You so Much!!!!

You are so, so welcome!! Glad that was it. I had this in my "to-try" files for a while and just never got around to making it I "believe" this is a BHG recipe though I cannot say for a 100%. I have all my SL recipes in a separate file and normally with the initials SL on it. This one wasn't marked so BHG OR Martha Stewart is my best guess. Anyway, I plan to make this since you gave it such glowing reviews and I'll try your suggestions!

Default Thanks again

Thanks again,
I made this the other night and it was just like I remember......in addition to using chunky apple sauce, I don't use the dried apples in the struesel topping......just as good without.
