All White Bathroom, HELP!
Now, while I am all about coconut bras, lime green Jimmy Buffett t-shirts, hot pink swim suits, and of course, let's not forget our wildly painted bus! I am one who likes neutral colors on the walls.....taupes, beiges, etc.
Y'all know we are living in an apt. until we get a house built. Now, my question, and I do have one, is, the master bath in the apt. we are at. It has white tile floors, white tile all around it, white cabinets...and what little wall there is is painted purple...LSU purple....Bobby-Tyler loves it, but I digress....
Oh, my question...we are allowed to paint (as long as it is able to be painted over once we have moved....). I need some "color" to it...now I can't change the tiling or the tub or sink, so what do y'all suggest that I do? Change the cabinet(s) color? To what?? I feel like I am entering an operating room!

I would be hesitant to paint cabinets, but then I don't enjoy painting anything. What about lots of framed black and white photos all over the wall - ceiling to floor. Find a small rug that has the purple color in it to give the floor some color and cover the white. Any windows? Maybe curtains or a shade? Hate for you to spend a lot of money on something you can't take with you - like paint. You can always take the pictures and the rug.

I would probably paint the walls taupe and give it some snap with black-framed items as scarlettdouble suggested.

Cpt - DH and I are in our transition home (an apartment) until we find a house. Our house hunt is proving to be rather slow.
Anyway, we are in the same situation with everything being white, in my case it is off white. I would love to add some color... anywhere here. DH says it would be hard to cover up the walls to be white again without at least one coat of primer and then repainting it... I will live with the white until I find a house.
Just think how much fun it will be to paint and decorate after living with white for so long. Also, I don't want all the work of repainting when I am ready to move out and all I will want to do is move and start painting and decorating the new place.
But to answer your question, if you are going to paint, I would do light color on the walls that could be easily covered with the original color when you are ready to move. As Scarlett said, I don't think I would touch the cabinet doors. Another idea for adding some color would be pictures, towels and rugs or maybe even a tall silk flower arrangement on the vanity by the mirror so the color is projected out into the bathroom.
How much longer do you think you will be living in your "transition home"?

Cal, our house hunt is moving slow, also! DH wants to build and I just want a shack in Key West and Bobby-Tyler wants to stay where he will stay at the same school...despite I work for the school system and I can choose where he goes...but I digress.

id say just add some accessories cuz if you guys are just living there till ur house is built then there is no point to go thought the hassle...u can hang art on the walls and put some bold colored towels and that will change it around a bit and make it better...

Pretend you’re in college and hang up big ole posters of Buffett (just kidding)
I agree with everyone else don’t paint if you have to re-print
What if you find a nice cabinet to hang, that would take up some wall space plus you can take it with you

I like the Buffett poster idea
I have hung some black and white photes, mostly of Bobby-Tyler in there. It really looks good!
Thanks Y'all!

I would find a fabulous rug (regular carpet, not bathroom) that has alot of colors. If you like the purple, get one with that color in it. I have a round one that has beige, but then has a circle of spring flowers - purples, pinks, tans, greens, etc. Then, get really pretty towels that go with the rug. I really wouldn't paint the white cabinets (I live white cabinets, but regardless - I wouldn't paint that). It doesn't sound like you're going to be there long, so I would accessorize it - and I love the ideas of the art or photos all around it. There are a ton of online places (I get catelogs all the time) that have a great selection of reasonably priced fun rugs.
