Default New look for old pots?

I posted this under crafts also. I need help in painting old orange clay pots. I'd like to change the look and make them a little more decorative. Has anyone done that before? What type of paint did you use?
These are very large, and we have put styrofoam peanuts in the bottom, placed a porous fabric over the peanuts, and then put in the potting soil. That way we can move them a little easier.

I've seen the clay pots that had been painted, Grammy. They were very pretty, but I have no idea what type of paint was used. Hope you get some help.

Default Painted pots

Grammy,
I've painted many pots and spray painting with acrylic paint is very easy. You can seal them with a clear mat acrylic, too. Another neat idea is to use chalkboard paint, available at any home store. Then you can label the type of plant around the rim.
