I don't have granite with white appliances, but I don't think it will look cheesy as long as the color of the granite goes with the white. We have granite with black appliances. Our granite kind of reminds me of a leopard print..black, white, cream, and shades of brown (light and dark). Though don't have white major appliances, I do have some white small appliances; stand mixer, toaster, etc. When we first moved in (this was recently) I was worried about mixing white in. I didn't want it to look outdated, but I think it looks really good.
Also, the apartment we just moved out of had white appliances with laminate counters, but the laminate looked kind of like granite from a distance, because of the pattern. I thought the kitchen looked nice.
