My neighbor 2 doors down has the most amazingly beautiful hibiscus ive ever seen! the leaves are dark green, its full full full, and the blooms are huge and beautiful! ive never seen a hibiscus so full and pretty. there's not a bare spot in/on it! even during the winter its like that!
BUT......the past few months its been dying!

ive never seen it look so pitiful! you can blow on it and the leaves fall right off! its bare, all the leaves (whats left) are yellow, he's lucky to get more than one bloom at a time now. he showed me yesterday what the problem was. under the dead leaves were a bunch of these tiny white flies. they were everywhere! he shook a branch and omg! they were almost like gnats but he said they were white flies and they feast and drain all moisture and nutrients out of the plant. he said he's tried all kinds of stuff on it but no avail. there is another hibiscus not but 3 feet from this one and its untouched by them.
what are they!? how can you get rid of them or prevent them!? i dont want to have the same problem with my hibiscus! its small and bare enough as it is already without some pests eating away at it!!
