I agree with you, Tipper, about those magazines. Those are all published by Hoffman Media and I think they are much better publications. I really like Real Simple, too.

I don't save any magazines anymore. I subscribe to Real Simple, Better Homes and Gardens, and Everyday Food. I swap these with a friend of mine for Rachael Ray's magazine, the Food Network magazine, and Martha Stewart Living. I keep any recipes I want to save online (Southern Living uses MyRecipes and BH&G has their own saving utility) or on the BigOven software I have. If there are other articles on travel, decorating, etc., that I want to keep, I have an accordian folder with the sections labeled and I just tear out and file the articles I want. The cool thing about BH&G is that if you subscribe, you can get the entire print magazine in PDF, so I don't even have to tear anything out.

ETA: Even though I utilize the internet for saving things, I still like to have a print copy of my favorite magazines so I can sit on the deck or wherever and read them at leisure.

My church is collecting magazines to send to soldiers who are overseas. I thought this was a great way to recycle and send something sweet to our soldiers! I made a HUGE donation this afternoon.

Scarlett- what a great idea! I save TONS of magazines, usually to bring them home to my mother because she and I trade. Like many of you, I save Real Simple, Southern Living and sometimes Woman's Day.

I get a few gender neutral magazines though that I think the troops would enjoy. When one of my friends was overseas I sent him a bunch of Rolling Stone magazines and he loved them!

Don't forget that women make up a good percentage of our troops these days, and I bet they'd love some women's magazines!

I had a big stack of Victoria but when they stopped printing, I gave them away. When they started back I didn't subscribe. I keep Real Simple - and did keep Southern Living for a long time but when they started having more advertising than content, I stopped keeping them. I try to pass on to others whatever I don't want and makes me feel better about getting rid of them.

I keep Taste of Home for the recipes, used to keep SL but no more. Just got my first copy of Real Simple so don't know about that one yet.
